• Dr. David was born and raised in Mtn. View, CA
• Dr. David completed his Bachelors of Science from the University of California at Davis and graduated with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry.
• Community service has been prevalent throughout Dr. David’s career. He served as an officer for the volunteer service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega where he provided basic healthcare and collected supplies to provide for underserved populations of Yolo County. He continued his efforts in San Francisco by utilizing his dental skills to provide oral healthcare for San Francisco’s homeless population. As a resident, Dr. David performed oral surgery and denture delivery at Palo Alto’s Veteran’s hospital. Throughout his career, he has also visited multiple schools from elementary to high school to lecture about oral hygiene and the importance of daily maintenance and preventive dental care.
• Outside of dentistry, Dr. David’s interests include deep sea fishing, muy thai kickboxing, motorcycling, and later plans on becoming World Series of Poker champ ; )
  
  
  

DR. GRACE CHYUWEI

• Dr. Grace was born and raised in Mtn. View, CA
  
• She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science from UC Davis prior to attending the UC San Francisco School of Dentistry where she received:
  • Regent Scholar (top five of her class)
    
  • Pierre Fauchard Honor Society Senior Award for accomplishment in creation and publication of the first organized dentistry paper at UCSF.
    
  • California Dental Association Senior Award for Outstanding Academic Achievements and Contributions in serving a four year term as the representative of UCSF to the student branch of the American Dental Association
    
  • Newbrun Fellowship placing first in class, first in school, and second in state for her research in craniofacial development associated with birth defects
    
  • Recognized lecturer for two consecutive years in teaching first and second year dental students dental filling and crown techniques.
    
• Dr. Grace continues her dedication to the profession as a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Santa Clara Dental Society, American Association of Women Dentists, American Association of Dental Research, Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity.
  
• Dr. Grace opened Toothspa in 2002 and relocated the family practice in 2009. She concentrates on family dentistry and sees adults as well as children. With adults she has a strong affinity for beauty and function with a focus on aesthetic and preventative dentistry. Her Bachelor of Science emphasis on neurobiology, physiology and behavior combined with her gentle nature aids in her success with pediatric patients as well.
  Outside of dentistry, Dr. Grace’s favorite pass times include running marathons, cycling, traveling, spending time with her family, friends, cat, and talking parakeet.
  
  
  

• Dr. Mary Anne Baysac was born and raised in the city of San Francisco.
• She then obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology with an emphasis in Physiology at UC Davis.
• Dr. Baysac received her clinical training from the University of California San Francisco-School of Dentistry, where she now serves as faculty. After completing an Advanced Post-Graduate Residency at the Department of Veteran Affairs in West Los Angeles, Dr. Baysac was awarded Fellowships with the Academy of General Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantology. Her passion is to provide the latest in dental technology and advancements in a comfortable and caring environment.
• To better serve the local and international communities, Dr. Baysac earned her Master of Public Health degree from the Boston University School of Public Health and has published articles on oral cancer prevention. She was the Director of the UCSF Community Dental Clinic which serves the homeless. Dr. Baysac has also served on mission trips to Honduras.
• Dr. Baysac is proud to be a part of the advancements, technology, and excellent patient care that defines the Toothspa.
• She enjoys reading, travelling, volunteer tutoring for children, and spending time with her family and fiancé. She also loves attending numerous dental continuing education courses from some of world's top clinicians.
• Dr. Baysac has won numerous awards including:

DR. JANE VU

• Dr. Jane Vu was born and raised in Stockton, California.
• Dr. Vu graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Minor in Chemistry from the University of the Pacific in Stockton. She was a Dean’s List Honoree for 3 years during her education at UOP.
• She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry.
• Dr. Vu began her dental career as a volunteer dental assistant at the local community dental clinic during her time as an undergraduate student. Working with local dentists, she provided dental care for many of the homeless in San Joaquin County.
• Community service is a value for Dr. Vu, she has participated in numerous screenings providing dental care to under served areas of the Bay Area. She has also participated in dental missions around the world including Ecuador, and Peru where she has provided emergency dental treatment to populations who have never received standard dental care.
• As a dental student, Dr. Vu encountered many experiences working with complex care patients. She has practiced emergency dentistry, with a focus on pain management providing critical dental support to oral surgery residents with patients experiencing severe facial trauma at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California. She has also practiced community in-patient dentistry for the chronically ill providing comprehensive dental needs at Laguna Honda Hospital in San Francisco, California.
• Dr. Vu is excited to be a dental associate for the Toothspa dental team, which allows her to provide service to her community. She strives to educate and make her patients feel comfortable at each and every appointment.
• Dr. Vu currently lives in San Mateo and enjoys spending her free time with her friends and family especially her nieces Genevieve and Victoria.
  
  
  

• Carol brings a variety of skills with her 37 years of office accounting and human relations background.
• Having excelled in several courses in facilitating dental insurance claims and communications, Carol is well versed to research and answer your financial questions. She is knowledgeable with over 10 major dental insurances and personally verifies all financial information for her patients.
• Carol is an avid holiday decorator and family person. Along with her daughter and son she was a Girl Scout leader and one of the first female Scoutmasters in the Santa Clara County Boy Scouts. She enjoys spending her spare time with her husband, Mike, her black Labrador, Bear, and her one-year old twin grandsons.
  
  
  

• Catherine was born in Mountain View, and was raised in Morgan Hill.
• Before becoming a Hygienist, Catherine received her BA in Japanese studies with a minor in Health Care and Social Issues from The University of California, San Diego in 2002.
• She attended Hygiene school at San Joaquin Valley College Hygiene Program in 2006.
• While in school Catherine participated in the California First 5 program, visiting elementary schools, teaching children about oral health. She also worked in the schools dental clinic providing free dental care to underprivileged children and their families.
• As well as working with the Tooth Spa, Catherine also works in offices in Milpitas and San Jose.
• Since the age of six, Catherine has been training and competing in the US Kendo team, locally, nationally and internationally. She holds a fourth degree black belt! She teaches Kendo classes for both children and adults. Recently Catherine and her team placed 3rd in the world at the 14th World Kendo Championships held in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
• In her spare time Catherine enjoys photography, and going out with her friends and family, especially her baby triplet nieces: Madilyn, Gabriella, and Emilie!.
  
  
  

• Lorena was born in Nicaragua, Central America. She moved to the United States about 22 years ago and recently became a US Citizen.
• Lorena has been with the Tooth Spa for almost 5 years.
• She began her Dental Assistant career by volunteering at Community Clinics for low income familys.
• She graduated in 2001 from Advanced School of Dental Assisting in San Jose CA.
• She became a California Registered Dental Assistant about 2 years ago.
• At this time she actively engaged in providing a peaceful and warm environment for dental care, and understands the importance of gentle comprehensive family care.
• Lorena also commits to her profession by attending continuing education courses on advancements in dental health and often attends conferences with the doctors to assist in achieving efficient and advance care.
• In addiction Lorena also visits local schools to educate and provide low income family dental screenings.
• Ultimately, Lorena aspires to pursue a Hygiene or Dental degree.
• Outside of dentistry, Lorena’s favourite past times include spending time with her family, friends, and salsa dancing.
  
  
  

• Serena was born and raised in Santa Cruz, California, where she still resides.
• Before deciding on Dentistry in 2003, Serena volunteered at Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, as well as with the county EMS.
• In 2004, she graduated from the Santa Cruz Regional Occupations Program in Dental Assisting, top 5 in her class.
• Serena earned her RDA license in 2006.
• Serena focuses on the role of advanced computer technologies in the dental field. She has attended numerous continuing education courses in the utilization of computers in the dental setting.
• For the last 8 years, Serena has been an Improv and Character actor for the cast of the Northern and Southern Renaissance Faires. She rehearses in Los Angeles year round. She has participated in several Living History events teaching school children history.
• In her spare time Serena enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, distance running with her Mom, sculpting, and playing with her two nieces: Rhiannon and Carmel. She has also volunteered at Animal Rescue Projects, and adopted many cats!
• Serena has been attending college Part-time since 2006 and plans on finishing her BS in Bio-Chemistry. She plans on going into Hygiene or getting her DDS in the future.
  
  
  

• Sherin was born in Taiwan and moved to the United States in 2003.
• In the beginning of 2009, Sherin and her family became citizens of the United States.
• She is currently a college student and works part-time at the Toothspa, assisting and specializing in sterilization.
• Sherin has held several positions in the healthcare field such as assistant positions in chiropractics and orthodontics.
• She also enjoys playing the violin, piano, and guitar, which she has played since the age of seven.
  
  
  

• Grace was born in New Jersey and moved to California 10 years ago.
• Grace is a junior at Lynbrook High School in San Jose.
• She has been with the Tooth Spa since summer of 2009.
• Grace is a high school student currently volunteering at the Tooth Spa, and is interested in pursuing an academic career in the field of medicine.
• Grace enjoys writing in her free time. She participates in Speech and Debate and also plays the violin, the oboe, and the piano.
  
  
  

• Esther was born in South Korea, and came to the U.S.A. about 30 years ago, initially to New York. She, and her husband, settled in the Bay Area about 25 years ago.
• Upon moving to the United States, Esther attended De Anza College, studying healthcare.
• Esther brings us 15 years experience of managing the front office of a nearby dental office that had a 12,000 patient base.
• Esther has improved her patient treatment presentation knowledge and effective scheduling by attending several courses at the American Dental Association Convention in San Francisco. She is currently enjoying her work, utilizing her skills as our Front Desk Scheduling Coordinator.
• In her spare time, Esther enjoys riding with her husband on his motorcycle, reading good books, and visiting with the elderly or those who are confined to their homes, giving them relaxing massage therapy. Esther is proud of her daughter who is a Social Worker at a hospital in Los Angeles.
